چکیده
Persicaria amphibia (subfam. Polygonoideae), an aquatic macrophyte rich in dietary polyphenolics, is used as a traditional remedy and culinary herb. Nevertheless, P. from the Balkan region has been insufficiently studied underutilized. Here, cytotoxicity antimicrobial properties of previously chemically characterised ethanol extract aerial parts were tested. The following methods carried out: MTT assay, qRT-PCR, microdilution Chromobacterium violaceum screening assay (monitoring quorum sensing, QS) agar plating method (antifungal activity). study was conducted to determine cytotoxic effects against lung cancer cells (A549) its combination with cytostatic doxorubicin (Dox). A dose-dependent decrease cell viability (up 82% reduction) additive interactions tested agents noted. Both alone combined Dox, reduced expression Nrf2 (p < 0.05). In terms effects, exhibited antipathogenic effect since it disrupted QS communication, which evident through inhibition violacein production C. CV025. antifungal revealed that induced significant growth Aspergillus spp. (28.23%). Based on obtained results, further examination potential use modern phytotherapy diet-derived chemoprevention encouraged.
